The empty tomb is the news that Jesus has overcome death.

Luke chapters 16–24 convey the suffering and resurrection of the Savior, who taught the eternal kingdom and opened the way to enter that kingdom. Jesus, who took the sin of the whole world upon Himself once and for all when He received baptism from John, bore even the sins of our whole lives and shed His blood and died on the Cross, receiving that judgment in our place. But He did not remain in the tomb; He rose again from the dead and gave resurrection life to us who believe as well. The hope of the person who has received the remission of sins does not end with the life on this earth. With the hope of the resurrection that the empty tomb conveys, look to living forever with Jesus.
